If!
If!
The word is small just two letter and I and an F which creates the word “IF”
Conjunction
Is a conditional clause on the condition or supposition that; in the event that.
similar meanings or term: on the condition, as long as, if only if, in the event that!
Noun
A condition or supposition,
similar meanings or terms: where there is uncertainty, doubt, hesitation, vagueness, specification!
There is a part of us that believes that there are all kinds of conditions or presuppositions for something to work out or to happen!
But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
But Jesus looked at them and said, “With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible.”
Evangelical Commentary on the Bible A. The Journey to Jerusalem (8:27–10:52)
Jesus heightens the paradox of absolute belief in him and the gospel as the condition of entering the kingdom of God and inheriting real riches in both this life and the life to come. Only by laying aside trust in human achievement and coming to Jesus in belief and following him (v. 21) can one thread a huge camel through the tiny eye of a needle and enter the kingdom. It is impossible except by the miracle of divine grace (vv. 24–27), for what is humanly impossible is possible with God.
For with God nothing will be impossible.”
Let us think about these two miracle of how God took and young virgin and impregnated and another woman who was past the child bearing years.
These two mothers brought men into the world that would change the world forever. John prepares the way and Jesus who saves the world from themselves.
All things are possible with God, which means there is nothing He cannot do. In other words He can do all thing!
When we think about the impossible we need to look at it through the lenses of God and not our human flesh. It is filled with doubt and unbelief which is a lack of faith!
I we need to change our perspective at the way we look at things that require the hand of God to move in the miraculous.
We are going to look at a few of the miracles of God! but from the stand point of “IF” God can or will or able or desires to do it!
If you are willing!
And behold, a leper came and worshiped Him, saying, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.”
Evangelical Commentary on the Bible C. Jesus’ Authority Manifested (8:1–9:34)
In saying that Jesus can heal him if he so wills (v. 2), the man expresses confidence that God’s power is at work in Jesus. Jesus’ touch (which according to the Law would have defiled him) cleanses the unclean; his word banishes the uncleanness
But come!
While He spoke these things to them, behold, a ruler came and worshiped Him, saying, “My daughter has just died, but come and lay Your hand on her and she will live.”
If I could only!
For she said, “If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.”
Evangelical Commentary on the Bible B. Jesus’ Itinerant Ministry in Galilee (3:7–6:29)
The woman is immediately healed of her bleeding and freed from her suffering, though there were others who must have been touching Jesus in the press, an inference attested by the disciples’ somewhat snappish reply to Jesus’ question, “Who touched my clothes?” (v. 30), for Jesus realized that power had gone out from him. Irony abounds, for the healing power of the reign of God embodied in Jesus operates at a deep level of faith that is not perceived on the surface; all one sees is the pressing crowd, when in reality a miraculous exchange has taken place between two persons
But if you can!
And often he has thrown him both into the fire and into the water to destroy him. But if You can do anything, have compassion on us and help us.”
Here is a father asking seeking help for his child as anyone of us would!
He was desperate to get the help for his son as he was in agony watching his son be tormented.
What would you do?
If you have faith!
So Jesus answered and said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but also if you say to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ it will be done.
The lesson here is having faith to believe in the supernatural and pray within the authority of God. As Jesus says “if” one has faith and doesn’t doubt it will happen.
When He saw their faith, He said to him, “Man, your sins are forgiven you.”
When Jesus saw the faith of the four who found a way for their friend to be healed, by lowering him through a hole they created in the roof.
Can I challenge you this morning that we will start to look at God as the God of possibility and stop doubting!
If we will do this we will start to see the supernatural happen, why because all things are possible with God!
If we doubt and walk in unbelief then all these things will be impossible for you!
Matthew 19:26 “With men this is impossible!”
Matthew 21:21b “Assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt”
As we conclude I really want us to think on Jesus words to His disciples that if you believe and have faith and do not doubt!
All things are possible!
This is the key “IF” you have faith without doubt!
All things are possible!
Having Faith / without doubt!!!
